To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

I ordered this item the retainer bar, because mine was missing. When I received it, which was super fast, I was putting it on the wrong way. I ended up email pictures to the support team, and instantly received a response. Step by step they walked me through, even though it was super easy. I will say this company is amazing! We have had our dog door for many years. We were concerned any required replacement parts would not be available. So pleased how this part was exactly what we needed so we did not need to buy another dog door.

You guys saw the risk of having the magnet in an area that would be hit repeatedly and mitigated it by creating a replacement part that can be purchased by the customer. Good for you guys!

Perfect fit, but...
The magnetic bar is a perfect fit but I wish it wasn't so easily removable by my ornery dog. I feel like it is a design flaw. I have had to replace the bar 4 times in the last 18mos.

Great, and not so Great...
First.. CHEERS to Ideal Pet Products for amazing order processing and super fast delivery, thanks! I had to shave off one Star.. it's a 4. The plastic piece is a tab bit thicker, so the edge where it typically breaks is WAY stronger.. I suspect it will last much longer!.. However.. the current Photo showing here is also accurate.. the magnets o the new product are Ferrite composition whereas the originals are Neodymium.. The Ferrite is NOT strong enough to keep the door flap closed.. in fact, it barely works. I had to remove the Neodymium magnets from the old broken bar, and replace those Ferrite magnets with the originals.. a bit of hot glue works great. Yes.. I still recommend these.. BUT.. don't lose the Neo magnets.. you'll need them.

The replacement bar works great. The magnetic closure keeps the flap from opening back and forth. I am very happy with the product!

Magnetic Bar for Pet Door
This is the second magnetic bar I have replaced since purchasing the panel in 2017. Our two German Shepherds go in and out of the pet door continuously during the day. The magnetic bar receives lots of wear and tear due to all of the activity. It's so nice to replaced such an inexpensive part without replacing the whole door.
