To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

They should make these out of metal.
I had to replace this retainer bar because the previous one broke from being kicked every time the dogs ran in and out. It's just plastic, so it can't stand being kicked repeatedly forever. The same thing is going to happen to this new one. Could they make it out of aluminum, so it would last longer? Yeah, they could. Will they? Probably not. Next time it breaks, I'll just replace the entire door with a different brand product.

Made flap work perfectly
Had to get s new flap but old bar was broken. This new one made it all work perfectly. Would like magnets to be a little stronger, but still works great.

Had to replace flap but original strip was broken so the new one snapped into place and now flap closes properly

Good replacement
I'm glad you have replacement parts as I've had this door for a 15 yrs. It would be great if the magnets were a little stronger. The wind can be strong sometimes and the flap stays open.

Good replacement part
I don't feel that the magnets are quite as good as the original ones. Kansas winds are strong. I am very happy that this company sells replacement parts. I will be sticking with this companies products.

Works great but ...
The magnet works great but sits on the home very loosely and would like to advise putting stronger magnets in and also a more secure fit so it doesn't wiggle and eventually break I've had to replace this bar three times in 3 years
