To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

Perfect Replacement
I wasn’t really sure what size pet door cover to order, as my original Ideal Pet Products’s pet door came with the house, and Ideal Pet Products doesn’t list the dimensions of the cover sizes. So even though I measured mine to the 16th of an inch and included the measurements with my order in the comments section, Ideal’s customer service didn’t have a clue what the cover dimensions were. I’m happy to say I guessed correctly by comparing my original (broken) cover with the pictures online in ordering a Medium, and the new covers (I ordered two) fit perfectly.

Not easy to install
