To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

The door has been changed!
We have an Ideal pet Door, ordered some replacement parts but no where does it say the sizing of the door opening has changed so had to drill new holes and glue stuff to make it somehow fit.

Super Easy to Install
Our super large door was purchased in 2010...It has seen a great deal of use over the years by 3 Newfoundlands as well as a Beagle. Over the years the magnets have been lost and the flap had become warped and discolored. I was so happy to be able to follow your measurements and place the order for a replacement frame. It was super easy to install.

Know your measurements
Measure your dog from inside frame to inside frame to determine which one you need. I ordered the wrong one but customer service helped me return it and get the correct one. Quick removal of s couple screws and it’s done! Easy and simple. The magnet on the bottom is wonderful because it catches and hold the plastic flap in place and isn’t too strong so a smaller dog can push it one with ease

It worked
I was surprised to only receive the inside half. Kinda thought it was the whole frame. Opened it up and there was one piece and no screws. Luckily I saved parts from the old one.

Perfect Replacement
I am very happy Ideal is still offering this part. It would be very upsetting if it was no longer available. I volunteer with a dog rescue and foster a lot of dogs which means my doggy door is in constant use. I also have four BIG dogs, 80-105lbs, that go in and out the door all day. I usually have to replace the frame about every two years. It's great quality, but I have puppies who will occasionally chew on the bottom of the frame which is the reason it has to be replaced. I love this doggy door!!

I ordered the inside frame, outside beauty ring and the slide and was pretty surprised to not receive new screws???? Everything fit back the right way but would have really loved new screws and really don't understand the reasoning for not sending them.

Poor quality and...
the piece for anchoring the flap with screws was not included. Mine has stripped because it's plastic and the screws are loose. There are gaps between the flap and frame where my HVAC system draws in outside air. The frame is made of a very flimsy plastic and the flap should be positioned in the middle of the frame not the outside or inside edge of the frame. Just plain poor design and quality.
