To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

Replacement parts
Got the door from a friend, but missing flap, bar and screws. Ordered everything on line and was very easy and not expensive considering what the total door cost is. Make sure you get the right size. There's an old and a new. My screw holes did not match, but easy enough to drill new ones in my existing door. Have not installed yet, but quality looks good.

Plastic hold bar
The replacement bar is fine I just wonder why a more substantial piece [metal?] is not used so replacement is not so frequently needed. I would also recommend bolts that go all the way through in lieu of screws into the plastic.

Great to have replacement option
When the piece holding our dog door flap broke last week, I started looking online for new dog doors. I remembered that I still had the paperwork from 1999. The door was from Ideal. I went to the website and was able to find the exact replacement part I needed. 3 days later the door was fully functional again!

I was very worried when the old replacement flap bar broke when I was removing it. Flap Bar
This replacement flap bar fit well and we hope it will last as long as the original (a decade!) exposed to sun and heavy traffic. Keep your old screws as they are not included with the bar which is why I gave it 4 stars.

A great replacement that fits exactly where the old bar fit. No adjustment nessacary. Just make sure you are ordering the correct bar for your door. Also, if you are replaceing the old style door, I would order this bar with it. Your's is likely damaged, and you won't see it until you remove the door.
