(A) Measure the widest point of your pets shoulder
(B) Measure from the top of your pets back (just behind his head) to the bottom of chest.

would be nice if frame replacement came as a whole kit instead of in pieces

I had to buy a replacement frame. No big deal, except you got a to buy it all in pieces. Screws or a separate. I missed one of the pieces and had to pay another shipping charge.
I don't mind paying for any of this except the additional shipping charge for a little tiny piece. It would be nice if you could buy it as a kit.
