To determine the correct size door, simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet.
(A) Measure the widest point of your pet's shoulder.
(B) Measure from the top of your pet's back (just behind their head) to the bottom of chest.
Pet door models have different size openings. Just make sure your new pet door's opening is both wider and taller than your pet's measurements to ensure they can comfortably pass through.

Replacement flap
Our patio dog door must be 18 years old and still holding up. We replace the flap from time to time and it is easy to install and an excellent product. These pet products truly are ideal.

Replacement vinyl flap
This flap is exactly the same as the flap I needed to replace. Installation was easy and it fits perfectly. Locating the part on the Ideal Pet Products website was a little tricky. Their website would benefit from a redesign, better descriptions of products and images that are not so tiny that you can't tell what the product looks like.

Meh…passable, could be better
I’ve had the XL pet door for three years now and I’ve had to replace the flap once a year. This is expected with two large breed dogs using it multiple times a day. From a design perspective, the flap could perform better if the edges had extended softer seals or flaps that could create a seal for better draft reduction. A simple flimsy rubber layer on the edges of the flap would drastically reduce the amount of cold air pulled into your home in the winter when your heater is running.

Lasted 2.5 years with dogs being slightly harsh on it
It lasted 2.5 years with dogs being slightly harsh on it. They bang through it fairly hard and constantly are running through the door. I suspect with dogs that always go through the door gently this could last much longer. However, to get 5 stars from me it has to last longer even with dogs that are not gentle on it. Good, but not great, longevity.

Vinyl Dog Door Replacements
Rugged construction and durable. Not cheap but my dogs are worth the price. New installation procedure is much more difficult than prior iterations due to needing to take entire frame apart rather than just the plastic piece but does last longer without excess warping.
