(A) Measure the widest point of your pets shoulder

The weak link in a great product.

I will second the comment made by Jerry in April 2016. You should try to make the red piece a little stronger so that they do not break so easily.
Very fast delivery time for which I am thankful.

We have owned an Ideal Pet sliding window cat door for 3 years. It has worked great in our basement apartment. This has been the 2nd time we have had to replace the red plastic lock parts on the cat door. The red plastic "tab" (that actually locks the swinging door) breaks. This is definitely the weakest part of an otherwise great swinging cat door. I'm glad that they carry these replacement parts, although I think charging over $2.00 to ship it is a bit excessive, especially when the parts (plastic bag included) only weighs 1/10ths of an ounce.
Works really well!

My five month old kittens broke the lock on my cat door after being frightened by a raccoon and I bought this product to repair it. It was easy to install and works well.

Received the replacement part quickly.
It installed very easily and I had my cat door back in business in no time!
